Marie Osmond named first-ever "Champion of Children" honoree!
LAS VEGAS (August 31, 2009) –
The Public Education Foundation will honor Marie Osmond at its 13th Annual 2009
Education Heroes Award Dinner on Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas.
This year, the Foundation unveils a new award category – Champion of Children. This esteemed award is presented to an individual dedicated to supporting children and championing children’s issues nationally and globally. After an extensive search, entertainer Marie Osmond was selected to receive the inaugural award due to her compassion for children worldwide and her commitment to their well-being through the organization she co-founded, the Children’s Miracle Network.
“Marie’s work on behalf children around the world distinguishes her as a special individual whose dedication and determination serves to inspire others to become more involved in shaping our children’s future,” said Judi Steele, president of the Foundation. “We are very proud to present Marie with the first-ever Champion of Children Award as she sets the highest of standards for many years to come.”
